Ichinoyu Honkan - Hakone

We had such an amazing stay! The spacious Japanese-style room with a river view was breathtaking. The dinner experience was unforgettable – cooking our own meals added a fun twist! However, the dining room could use an update.

warm enough and spacious unit with a larger bathroom and a beautiful view plus the private bath. paid £ 18450. location not far from restaurants and shopping as well as various transport stations as well as the hill to the main road.

Everything was amazing during 1 day, truly enjoyed its excellent and stunning location very close to wonderful onsen as well as shopping area...

the shared bathroom facilities felt outdated. but the private onsen was fantastic, with views of the river. also, the meals were beyond delicious, especially the shabu-shabu. we really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the ryokan.

location: the hotel was short walk to charming hakone and convenience stores, cafes, restaurants and bus stop.

Its location down the hill to the main road was excellent. I was met by affable and helpful staff at the lobby. I enjoyed the japanese-style twin room with excellent view, an outside hot spring bath and the futon beds.

The bathroom was very tiny, I didn't like it.

Ichinoyu honkan is a fantastic ryokan! It's super close to a bus stop and only a short walk to the train station. I loved the large yukata they provided, and the dinner and breakfast had so many choices, especially the delicious seafood and noodles.

Having stayed in hakone as a child, i was excited to return, and ichinoyu honkan exceeded my expectations. The private onsen overlooking the river was a highlight. The food was good, with delicious shabu-shabu and a hearty breakfast that set us up for the day.

The shared bathrooms felt outdated, and the process of setting up the futons each night was a bit inconvenient. The furniture also had a vintage feel, which might not appeal to everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Ichinoyu Honkan. the property is lovely, and we enjoyed a spacious room complete with a private bath. the amenities included an electric kettle, a personal safe, and air conditioning, which added to our comfort. the staff was friendly and accommodating, providing us with helpful information throughout our visit. the convenient train station nearby made exploring the area easy.

Had such a beautiful stay! The private onsen overlooking the river was the perfect way to unwind, and the hot pot dinner was a fun experience. Just a heads up, the common bathrooms could use some updates, but it didn't take away from the charm 😊

The staff were friendly and helpful here, the location was convenient being near a bus stop, and it was great being within walking distance of both a valley and a mountain.

Staying here was fantastic! We loved our private hot spring in the room, where we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful mountain views. The breakfast was delicious, with local ingredients, made our mornings special.

My kids wished for a playful area where they could unwind after a long journey.
